Session 6 | The Seven Churches of Revelation | Philadelphia
Last Sunday we focused on the message Jesus had for the church at Philadelphia, one of only two of the seven churches in Revelation, not to be rebuked by Jesus. Despite facing persecution and extreme physical difficulty, the Christians kept faith with God and did not deny Him. Jesus opened doors for them to share the Good News. Their hope was based on God’s promises in His word and the prophecies about the future of Jesus coming again and bringing a new heaven and a new earth into being.
Some questions you may want to consider:-
- Where (and who) do you turn to when life is difficult?
- Whilst many of us do not currently suffer persecution for our faith, people in other countries do. Consider finding out more using the Open Doors website and pray regularly for Christians in a particular country.
You may also find William Barclay’s commentary on Revelation a useful resource.
