Children & Youth

Growing Together.
Valuing The Next Generation

Children are a vital and much-loved part of our church family. We believe every child and young person is precious, bringing their own unique gifts to our community. We’re here to support parents and carers through all the joys and challenges of raising the next generation, walking alongside you every step of the way.

Below you’ll find a summary of the activities and groups we offer to empower children, young people, and their families to be fully integrated into church family life.

Children & Youth
Sunday Services

Every Sunday

10:30am until 11:45am

Bromsgrove Baptist Church

New Road, Bromsgrove, B60 2JD

Children and young people make up an important and essential part of our church.

Our Sunday morning children and youth groups run every week, except for our ‘All Age Worship’ service on the first Sunday of each month.

Timeline

10 am – Arrive, settle in. Enjoy refreshments.

10:30 am – Service starts. All children stay in the service for a while. If you have a child aged 0–2, you’re welcome to stay with them in the foyer/lobby area. There will be toys available. Audio from the service is available here, so you can still follow along.

11 am – All parents and guardians take their children to the main hall; located at the back of the church, to the side of the main lobby entrance. Children aged 2-4 go straight to the creche room, located off the main hall. Children aged 4+ and youth stay in the main hall for 10 minutes for a drink and a snack, and sometimes action songs or short activities.  They then go into each of their groups.

11.45 am – At the end of the service, children are collected by their parent/guardian from their group.

Group Locations

Pre-school (ages 0-2) – Foyer
There is a space in the foyer for parents/guardians to stay with them. Toys and activities are available. Audio is connected to this area of the church, so adults are still able to enjoy the service.

Creche (ages 2-4) – Off Main Hall
Pre-school children can enjoy simple bible stories with linked craft activities, and there’s lots of playing too! Parents are welcome to stay in with their children. We often find that they are happy to be left once they’ve got to know us.

Older Children & Youth (ages 4-17)
We have groups for older children too. They offer a great time to learn more about Jesus through stories, songs, craft, play and discussion.

Bubbles (ages 4-7) – Off Main Hall
X-Stream (ages 7-11) – Off Main Hall
Youth Group (ages 11-17) – Quiet Room: Off Foyer

Safety & Wellbeing

The safety and wellbeing of the children and young people attending our church is of the utmost importance. We care a lot about you!

Our children and young people’s groups are supported by a large team of volunteers. All have passed enhanced DBS checks and have had regular training in Safeguarding.

The church has a Safeguarding Policy, which is supported by a set of procedures to make sure you are safe and looked after.

For more information on any of our work with children and young people, please email Dave Bell, who is our deacon responsible for safeguarding.
