Thomas was doubtful that the other disciples had seen Jesus, even though he knew them well and was only reassured once he had seen Jesus and the scars on his hands and his side. It is ok to have doubts along with people in the Bible such as Peter and Abraham and Sarah as these might be opportunities to build deeper roots. Do we believe in a resurrected Jesus and what does this mean to us?

Questions you may want to consider:

  1. When has been a moment when you have had doubts about your faith and what has helped you?
  2. Do you think you would have had the same reaction to hearing about the risen Jesus as Thomas did and needed to see the evidence for yourself?
  3. How would you answer someone who said how do we know that Jesus was resurrected from the dead?
  4. How would you break down the phrase My Lord and my God -write down what those words mean to you?
