This ‘Book Sunday’ invited us to reflect on reading as a metaphor for life. Like a book, life is made up of different chapters and seasons, some we wish to hurry through and others we would gladly extend. Drawing on Ecclesiastes 3:1, we are reminded that God has a purpose for every season and guides each chapter of our lives. Though new beginnings can be challenging, they offer opportunities for growth in our faith. As a new academic year starts, we are encouraged to remain open to God’s calling, wherever we are in the current chapter of our lives.

Some questions you may want to consider:

1. What chapter or season of life am I currently in, and what might God be teaching me through it?
2. Is there an area of my life where God may be calling me to embrace change, a new beginning, or a different direction?
3. How can I trust God’s timing more fully, especially in the seasons I wish would move faster or last longer?
